Our sustainability strategy: shaping a responsible future
Our Commitment to ESG Excellence
BTicino guides you towards a future where innovation and Italian design excellence meet sustainability. Experience the difference, where every solution is created for your comfort, safety, and peace of mind. Our approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is embedded in our purpose: improving lives by transforming spaces with intelligent, sustainable infrastructure.
As part of Legrand Group, we take responsibility
Legrand and BTicino are committed to helping people use electricity in a sustainable way. The new CSR roadmap of the Legrand Group focuses on 4 key areas that guide and concentrate our commitments: fostering diversity and inclusion, reducing our carbon footprint, promoting the circular economy and, finally, being responsible players.
Our ecological approach to products
BTicino adopts an integrated ecological approach that considers sustainability as a guiding principle throughout all stages of product design, production, and distribution. This commitment is reflected in a strong focus on energy savings, the selection of suppliers who implement certified environmental management systems, the use of recycled materials, and the evaluation of environmental impact across the entire product lifecycle.
Light NOW
The entire Light Now project, in continuity with BTicino values, is based on a sustainable approach which concerns procedures, technologies, environmental impact of the product, materials and packaging.
- Light Now uses 50% recycled materials for coverplates and supports from mechanical and chemical recycling.
- All Light Now product packaging is entirely plastic-free. Additionally, we have optimized weight and volume to the fullest extent possible, significantly minimizing the carbon footprint.
Linea 5000
Linea 5000 embodies a sustainable vision, combining eco-friendly materials with intelligent energy-saving features:
- Recycled aluminium. The fixing frames of the Linea 5000 modules and the finishing frames are made of 60% recycled aluminium.
- Only active when needed. The proximity and brightness sensors contribute to energy efficiency, as the screen only activates when needed, automatically and only when someone approaches.
MatixGO
MatixGO embraces sustainability throughout its lifecycle, from design to disposal.
- Materials: uses “I’m nature,” a 100% compostable bio-based plate. Other products contain 27% recycled plastic and are made using In Mold Decoration to minimize waste.
- Packaging: Fully paper-based, plastic-free, lightweight, and space-efficient to reduce carbon emissions.
- Safety & emissions: halogen-free for fire safety and designed to cut CO₂ emissions by 24% compared to conventional products.
Our commitment to the planet
BTicino has consistently been developing environmentally sustainable processes and products. The aim of the Group is to preserve and protect our planet by reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.
We created responsible packaging
BTicino demonstrates its commitment to protecting the environment on multiple fronts, including packaging. By carefully optimizing design, production and assembly processes, BTicino has created responsible packaging. Smart choices, such as reducing the printed surface, avoiding UV varnishing or lamination, and replacing plastic with 100% FSC Mix certified paper have paid off. The results so far are an increase in recycled raw materials (+134.1 T) and a strong reduction in weight (-26.6 T), disposable plastic (-26.3 T) and emissions (-153.5 T).
We make recycling easy for our customers
Recycling is a key aspect in the development of BTicino's packaging solutions. To facilitate separate waste collection, BTicino produces single-material packaging and provides consumers with tools to support proper disposal.
One of the tool is the on-line guide on environmental labelling "How do I dispose of it?", currently available for the Italian market only.
The WEEE European directive (2012/19/EU)
The WEEE directive aims to reduce the quantity of wastes coming from the end-of-life of electrical and electronic equipments, reducing at the same time the presence in the environment of the dangerous substances prohibited by the RoHS directive. Learn about Bticino's commitment to Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) sustainability.
