WHAT IS DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY?

According to Directive (EU) 2016/2102, referred to in RGAA 4.0 (accessibility requirements for public sector bodies), digital accessibility is defined as making the public online communication services accessible to persons with disabilities. To achieve this, the services must be:

  • Perceivable: the information and interface components must be presented in such a way as to be perceived by all users;
  • Operable: the information and components must be operable by anybody;
  • Understandable: the information and components must function in a foreseeable manner;
  • Robust: the site content must be reliable and can be understood / used by a large number of users.

Digital accessibility covers all disabilities affecting Internet access, while also benefiting others, such as the elderly, whose abilities may change with age.
Digital accessibility therefore means easy, clear and intuitive browsing for all users.
