The new standard imposes more severe test conditions on the SPD than in the past, to make them ever more efficient and safe. Particularly the test on the 1P+N and 3 P+N SPD has become more severe, obliging the manufacturer to make the spark gap SPD connected between N and EP stronger and safer. The new BTicino SPD have been redesigned to comply with the new provisions of CEI EN 61643-11 standard.
